“To create a safe, fun and inclusive environment for children to discover their inner superstar!”
What our students' have to say
When we moved here from Northern Ireland last year it was hard for my 12 year old son to make friends. He has mild learning difficulties and is on the autistic spectrum. He loves singing and dancing and I convinced him to try Dream Academy along with his younger sister. He has gone from strength to strength. A combination of inclusion within the group, and feeling that it was a safe place to express himself, without fear of ridicule has been achieved by the team at Dream Academy. It has massively increased his confidence and improved his self-esteem no end. I’m so grateful that such a group exists in the area.
From a young age Kodie has always had a love of music whether it’s singing, dancing, playing ect but she lacked in confidence. She always sat in her bedroom and played alone. Since attending Dream Academy she not only has made new friends but her confidence has grown not only on stage but at home as well. She is now always out with friends and is not afraid of speaking out and making new friends. Her confidence has blossomed so much, she now is singing all the time. Her lifestyle has changed and I believe Dream Academy played a big part in helping her overcome her confidence issues. We are forever thankful for the new lease of life they have brought out in my daughter.
Kai started Dream Academy when he was just 5 years old. Kai still gets very excited about attending his classes each week and is forever making progress. Kai's confidence grows week on week and this shows in activities at school and his social life; especially on family holidays where he spends the whole evening on the dance floor. Kai was very nervous when he first started attending but is more than happy to stay at class on his own now. The team all work very hard and are always encouraging children to do better and to achieve the best of their own abilities. Every year we see a difference in Kais performance skills when he performs in the yearly show.
When Tia started with Dream Academy she was very shy and struggled very much with putting herself in the limelight. Within weeks I could see her improving and every week she loves going to her class. She has done a couple of shows which she has done a solo dance in. Not only is her confidence improving, Dream academy has pushed her beyond limits. She auditioned for The Voice kids, unfortunately she only got through to the second round but that in itself is an amazing experience and it's all thanks to Dream Academy. She has also now been selected for the dance comp group which Tia is super excited about, every week she can't wait for her classes. Can't thank everyone at Dream Academy enough for making my little girl super confident and happy
Ryan really enjoys attending Dream Academy. He is excited to go and full of beans afterward. When he started he was very keen but quite shy and self-conscious. However, this didn’t put him off and it has been lovely to see how inclusive the group is. Recently, I have noticed how much more confident he is speaking in front of people. (At Christmas he sang in front of family and narrated a play which he made up with his cousins). Ryan has speech therapy at school and I really believe that drama has helped with his confidence to use his voice and has helped in his speech therapy. Going to Dream Academy has given him inner confidence and happiness.
Lilly has always had a huge passion for singing and the Theatre. However before Dream Academy she was a very shy child who lacked confidence in herself and would feel way too embarrassed to perform infront of people. Through her lessons at Dream Academy and all the support and encouragement from her teachers; she has not only gained so much confidence in herself, her vocal and performance ability has gone from strength to strength. She is now an amazing little performer which has also lead to so many exciting oppotunities for her which wouldn't have happened without Dream Academy. She looks forward to her lessons every week which is a safe place where she can have fun, learn and discover her full potential.
Sienna has always had so much energy and enthusiasm with any task and hobby she undertakes. Her bubbly personality is infectious to anyone who meets her and always gives 100% in anything she takes on. Since joining Dream Academy a year ago, Sienna's teachers have noticed this and tapped into her strengths and she has even decided she wants a career in performing arts. When I collect Sienna from classes she bounces out in full excitement about what she has learnt and how she cannot wait for next weeks lesson. I have been totally impressed with how Dream Academy has helped Sienna and her fellow Dream Academy friends and always recommend Dream to other parents. They are a true Dream Team.
